Text to slug

Create a slug that retains Unicode letters and digits with your chosen separator and letter-case policy.

Each input: 128 KiB, 65,536 UTF-16 units and 5,000 lines; 256 KiB combined. Full output plus parts: at most 512 KiB, with 5,000 lines in the full text and each part, and 100 parts; 5-second deadline. Output converts CR/CRLF into LF. The original remains in the field.

This selection controls comparison, letter case and cluster boundaries; it does not change the site interface language.

Clusters beginning with a Unicode letter or digit retain their letters, digits, marks and joiners. This includes numeric keycaps: A1️⃣B becomes a1️⃣b with lowercase enabled. Other clusters, such as spaces, punctuation and 👩‍💻, become the separator. No transliteration into Latin or automatic URL encoding is performed.

How to use

Paste a title, select its language and a hyphen or underscore separator. Choose lowercase or Latin-diacritic removal if needed, then review, copy or download the slug.

Try an example

With Turkish, lowercase enabled and marks retained, İSTANBUL IŞIK becomes istanbul-ışık. The Arabic title دليل الأدوات remains دليل-الأدوات.

Support & limits

Clusters starting with a Unicode letter or digit and containing letters, digits, marks and joiners are retained, including numeric keycaps: A1️⃣B becomes a1️⃣b with lowercase enabled. Other clusters, such as whitespace, punctuation and 👩‍💻, become the selected separator; repeated separators merge and edge separators are removed. This is not general transliteration or a guarantee of acceptance by every system; URL encoding is a separate step.

Common questions

Is Arabic converted into Latin letters?

No; Arabic letters remain. Latin-diacritic removal is a limited option, not translation or language transliteration.
