Unit price calculator

Compare prices of compatible quantities using exact fractions, with explicit US and Imperial gallons.

Calculation stays in this browser, without requests carrying your entries or automatic storage. These small, bounded calculations run synchronously; there is no background job to cancel.

Choose a currency label and 0–3 decimal places explicitly. These are your accounting settings, not an automatic currency-rule lookup or currency conversion. Amounts and offer prices must fit this precision; energy tariffs and fuel rates may have up to 6 decimals.

Use nonnegative decimal digits with a dot or Arabic decimal separator. Arabic and Persian digits are accepted. No spaces, signs, grouping, exponent notation or line breaks. At most 12 whole digits and 6 fractional digits; values must not exceed 999999999999.

Compare 2–20 offers in one currency and one quantity family: mass, volume, length or whole items. The basis is 1 kg, 1 L, 1 m or 1 item. Ranking and ties use exact fractions, even if the 6-decimal display looks equal. oz means avoirdupois mass, not fluid ounces.

How to use

Choose currency and precision, then enter each offer’s price, quantity and unit. Use mass, volume, length or items consistently across offers. Calculate and read the offer numbers with the lowest price per base unit.

Try an example

500 g at 3.00 is 6.000000 per kg, compared with 5.00 for 1 kg; the second offer is cheaper.

Support & limits

The basis is 1 kg, 1 L, 1 m or 1 item. Quantities must be positive; items must be whole numbers. Prices may be zero and follow the selected monetary precision. There is no mass-to-volume conversion without density and no currency conversion. Pounds and ounces are avoirdupois mass; ft is the international foot. A US liquid gallon is 3.785411784 L; an Imperial gallon is 4.54609 L. Ranking and ties are exact; only decimal presentation is rounded to 6 places, with halfway cases upward.

Common questions

Do identical displayed prices always mean a tie?

No. Rounding can hide a difference beyond six decimal places. The comparison uses exact fractions, which the report also includes.
