Flashcard maker
Create two-sided cards manually, reorder and flip them during review, and locally import or download your deck as JSON.
How to use
Enter both sides and add a card. Edit cards or use Up and Down to change deck order. Save or explicitly discard the card draft before review or export. Start review, flip cards, move between them and mark reviewed cards. Explicitly download flashcards.json or copy the complete JSON. Import replaces the deck after your confirmation and successful validation; it does not append cards.
Valid file: {"version":1,"cards":[{"front":"Capital of Japan?","back":"Tokyo"},{"front":"7 × 8","back":"56"}]}. Moving the second card up makes review start with 7 × 8. Flipping shows 56; marking it twice does not count two cards.
Support & limits
Duplicate or extra keys, unsupported schema versions, empty sides and invalid Unicode are rejected. Accepted text keeps its spaces; editing fields may normalize line endings to LF. JSON strings are imported without Unicode normalization, and export writes compact JSON with fixed key order and one final LF, rather than the original file bytes. The clipboard may normalize line endings. A failed import keeps the previous deck, and editing a different field does not clear an oversized-field refusal. There is no AI, HTML execution, account, autosave or synchronization; review progress belongs to the session and is not included in the deck file. Size limits are not measured browser-memory use.
Common questions
Are cards or review progress saved automatically?
No. The deck stays in page memory during the session; explicitly download JSON to keep the cards. The review count does not implement spaced repetition or measure mastery. Importing the file later restores only card text and order.
