PDF to text

Extract the existing PDF text layer into TXT with explicit page separators.

One unencrypted PDF, up to 50 MiB and 200 pages. Local processing has a 15-second deadline per stage; existing parser budgets still apply. The original stays unchanged.

Extracts the existing text layer only, without OCR. At most 100,000 text units. Columns, Arabic reading order and spacing may need review; form values are not guaranteed in extracted text.

For example 1,3-5; selection order is preserved.

How to use

Choose a PDF containing a text layer and select the desired pages. Process it, review the opening text, then copy the complete result or download TXT.

Try an example

A two-page file containing First page and Second page produces two text sections separated by their source page numbers.

Support & limits

Columns, Arabic reading order and spacing depend on the original text layer and may need review. Tables and page layout are not reconstructed; form-field values are not guaranteed. If the selected pages contain no extractable text, an explicit message is shown; no text is invented and OCR is not run.

Common questions

Why does a scanned PDF produce no text?

An image alone has no extractable character layer. This tool reads existing text only; images require a separate OCR tool with declared quality limits.
