Data rate converter

Convert bits and bytes per second with distinct decimal and binary prefixes.

Calculation stays local without input upload or automatic saving. This small conversion is synchronous; there is no background job or cancellation function.

Up to 64 UTF-16 units, 30 total digits (including leading zeros), and 12 fractional digits; absolute input value at most 10^12. Digits 0–9, ٠–٩ and ۰–۹, decimal . or ٫, and signs + and - or − are accepted. No spaces, grouping, exponents or line breaks. Output uses ASCII and up to 12 significant digits, rounding ties away from zero and removing trailing fractional zeros. Scientific notation is selected when the absolute value of the nonzero result after rounding is below 0.000001 or at least 10^12; for example, -1 stays -1, while 999999999999.5 rounds to 1e+12. The report retains the original input. This is numerical rounding, not a measurement-uncertainty estimate.

Nonnegative values. B = 8 bit; k/M/G are powers of 1000 and Ki/Mi/Gi are powers of 1024. These are rates per second, not file sizes or a measurement of actual connection speed; transport overhead is not deducted.

How to use

Enter the value and choose source and destination units. For pressure, choose absolute or gauge reference. Select Convert, check the number, unit and rounding status, then copy the complete report or download TXT. Any edit clears the previous result; after oversized text is rejected, correct the value field itself or reset.

Try an example

1 MiB/s = 8.388608 Mbit/s exactly.

Common questions

Is the result completely exact, and are my inputs sent to a server?

Processing is local without upload or automatic saving. Defined rational factors are calculated without intermediate rounding; radian conversion uses a stated approximation of pi. Display uses up to 12 significant digits, with rounding status and original input retained in the report. Computational precision does not determine physical measurement accuracy. The clipboard may normalize line endings; TXT retains the report text. The draft supports Arabic and English interfaces only.
