Compare images

Compare two images visually and download a pixel-difference image with changed-pixel counts.

Up to 10 MiB per image; 30 MiB and 24 megapixels per batch. Work surfaces: 4 megapixels. Job deadline: 15 seconds. Outputs: 24 MiB. Processing stays in your browser. Without OffscreenCanvas, native drawing can briefly delay the interface. After cancellation, retry once pending native decoding or encoding finishes.

Comparison requires equal dimensions. No alignment or automatic resizing. The PNG shows absolute channel differences; black means identical. This does not detect forgery.

Still JPEG, PNG or WebP. Select files in order; each selection replaces the current list.

How to use

Select both images and inspect their previews. Run comparison, review the difference and statistics, and download them if needed.

Try an example

Two identical images give zero changed pixels and a black difference image.

Support & limits

Absolute RGBA differences are calculated after decoding. Alpha differences appear as white in the difference image. Mean error is a percentage of the four-channel full range and depends on encoding and colors. This is not forgery detection or semantic similarity.

Common questions

Are images aligned automatically?

No. Pixels are compared at identical coordinates and different dimensions are rejected. Prepare alignment and dimensions first.
